Adenylated Adapters for RNA Ligation
Circulomics publishes new article in the journal Scientific Reports entitled "Efficient synthesis of stably adenylated DNA and RNA adapters for microRNA capture using T4 RNA ligase 1" in conjunction with Dr. Tza-Huei Wang of Johns Hopkins University.
Adapter adenlyation is a critical step in many microRNA capture methods that mimizes the generation of backgroud products such as concatemers and circular forms. This article describes a simple enzymatic process for high efficiency generation of adenylated oligos using T4 RNA ligase 1, which can be easily heat inactivated prevent complications in downstream ligation reactions.
